COSTUMES FOR A Christmas Carol and Santas Workshop are already in preparation  Costumes will still be costed out this year again over the 4 terms and the costumes will be hired to you. Please note that there are no refunds available if your child is removed from a class for monies already paid for these costumes, as many costumes have already been ordered. Volunteers will still be needed this year for the following –

Group Costume Coordination – to coordinate the handing out and collection of a costume and the cleaning if necessary.

Headdress Makers – to make headdresses for the various groups

EISTEDDFOD PRIVATE LESSON TIMES Please contact the office if you wish to have a time allocated to you for eisteddfod solos and/or examination preparation

EISTEDDFOD ENTRIES SOLO/DUO/TRIO will this year be the responsibility of the individuals.  Please see the office for entry forms.  Please note that this year Miss Vallette will only be responsible for Group entries.

EXAM NOTICES will be given to those students who are to be considered for an RAD examination or assessment class.  These notices will be handed in early March.  If you have any questions about anything, please do not hesitate to write them in the parent’s book and I will call you.  Please note that the permission forms AND MONEY for the examinations must be returned by the due date on the form.  Students will not be entered for examination or assessment without full payment in advance. All students attempting an examination for Grade 1 ballet and above must attend the vacation school or arrange private lessons.  Students who are doing a presentation class in Grade 1 ballet or above are strongly advised to attend the vacation school.

FINAL PERFORMANCES at the Empire Theatre are already in planning process.  This year there will be changes to the structure of these to make these as smooth and enjoyable for the students as possible.  To facilitate a smoother operation of both the daily classes and the end of year performances, the studio will from this year be divided into two levels.  Students in Grade 2 Ballet, Level 3 Jazz, Level 3 Tap, Junior Music Theatre, Junior Hip Hop and below will be Junior School and all other students will be classified as Senior School. All drama students will also perform on Sunday 5 December.

HANDBOOKS for 2010 are available at the office.  Please make sure that you take one as they do contain relevant information for the studio that you may not be aware of.

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL There have been many of our students and teachers audition for this production at the Empire Theatre in April/May.  I hope that as many of you as can will come along and support our students and teachers who may be cast in the production

INVOICES AND NEWSLETTERS in 2010 will be emailed where possible.  Your invoices have all been sent out – please let the office know if you have not received yours. Sometimes invoices will go into your “spam” folder and so you will need to add Dance Central as a trusted name. Copies of this newsletter will be sent to your email address next week.

SAUSAGE SIZZLE – A sausage sizzle will be held on 6 March at the studio during the day.  Funds raised will be included in the donation for Miss Vallette’s shave for a cure.  Please support this fantastic cause!!!

Once again welcome back.  I hope that you have a great year with us and if you have any concerns that need to be addressed, please make a note in the parent’s book in the front foyer and I will contact you as soon as I possibly can.

Happy Dancing  Alison
