Toowoomba's Premier Dance School

Feb 2004 newsletter

Welcome to all students, both new and current students.  I hope that you have all had a fantastic break with your families and that we are all raring to go for the new year!

STAFF FOR 2004

There have been a few changes for staff in 2004.  We farewell with regret Miss Jameille and Miss Kristina.  Miss Jameille is concentrating on her Dalby Celtic studio and Miss Kristina has been accepted into DanceWorld 301 in Melbourne.  We welcome Miss Kelly, who will be teaching ballet in Pittsworth and Miss Elissa who will be teaching ballet in Stanthorpe.  Miss Kelly come to us in her final year of Dance Education from QUT and Miss Elissa is a graduate of the Australian Ballet School, who brings many years of teaching experience to the studio.  Welcome back to all of our other wonderful staff members.  There was a vague rumour that Mrs. Young was trying to retire, but we wouldn’t cope without her, so we have persuaded her to return again this year for our little ones – THANKFULLY!!

TIMETABLES

The timetables for this year have been set, but as these things are, they are not in concrete yet!  At this stage, some of our students from last year have not yet re-enrolled, so we are unsure as to whether some classes will actually run this year.  It will depend on numbers.  Similarly it is possible that some classes may need to be split due to class sizes.  I hope that I will be able to sort these issues out early in the term, and that minimal disruption will be caused to you all.

MONDAY TOOWOOMBA CHANGES

STANTHORPE

Sign on day for Stanthorpe is Tuesday 3 February from 3.30pm – 5.30pm.  Miss Evita is going overseas for a couple of weeks so unfortunately classes for jazz and tap will not commence until Thursday 18 March.  Classical ballet will commence on Monday 9 February.  I know that we will have a wonderful year in Stanthorpe again this year!

If you have ordered a video, they are available for collection.  Please make sure that you sign for them.  Many people have asked for a copy, but have not ordered them.  Once all ordered copies have gone out, if there are any left, I will endeavour to distribute these.

TOOWOOMBA CONCERT

I hope that you all enjoyed the performance last year.  The feedback was 99% positive and I hope that you enjoyed the show.  Please come and have a chat to me about the performance, I welcome all feedback both positive and negative as this is how we will continue to improve.  We will a this stage be performing the Wizard of Oz in 2004.  The Empire Theatre is booked for the 3 and 4 December.  Performance on the 4 December.

STANTHORPE AND PITTSWORTH CONCERTS

The dates for these are yet to be decided, but I envisage that the performances will be around the middle to end of November.  As with the Toowoomba concert, the general theme for these will be The Wizard of Oz.
