CONCERT DAY Empire Theatre. SATURDAY 4 DECEMBER
Times to remember
9.30am – 11.00am Act 1 Dress Rehearsal Empire Theatre
11.15am – 12.30pm Act 2 Dress Rehearsal Empire Theatre
ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THESE REHEARSALS
Please note that we will endeavour to keep to these times as we recognize that the children will need to rest between the show and the performance.
6.00pm - Drop off time
7.00pm - Performance commences
8.10pm - Interval
8.30pm - Performance recommences
9.15pm - Performance ends.
There are some points that you need to note
COSTUMES AND MAKEUP
- WILL be needed for the Dress Rehearsal in the morning
- Children in Grades 1 Ballet or Level 1 Jazz and below MAY wear their costume to the theatre for the performance
- All other students MUST name all articles that come backstage with them.
- Makeup must be worn for the run through in the morning – foundation, brown eye shadow, red lipstick mascara and light blush should be worn. Senior students should wear false eyelashes.
- Hair styles will for each class will be discussed with them in the next week.
DROP OFF FOR REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCE
- Students need to be dropped off and collected at the Stage Door entrance for both rehearsal and performance. This is accessed from
- Students will be signed in at the Stage Door at rehearsal time and performance time. This is a requirement of the theatre for evacuation purposes in the event of an emergency.
- Students will not be permitted to leave until they are collected by a parent or guardian. Please understand that whilst this may be a lengthy process due to the number of students involved, it is essential for the safety of your children.
- Please be reassured that your child will be well supervised during the rehearsal and performance.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Mr. Shane Richards will be taking photographs of the children during the dress rehearsal. If you would like an individual shot of your child or a group class shot, Mr. Richards will be in the studio at the Empire Theatre from 12.30pm until 6pm on Saturday 4 December. Sitting cost for this is $10 which includes a free 5 x 7 shot. Please call Shane to arrange this on 46384849 or 0419024831. Photographs taken during the rehearsals will also be available for purchase at a cost of $10. Please note that Shane cannot guarantee to get a shot of every student in rehearsal, and to ensure that you have a record of your child, an appointment must be made.
- The dvd of the production will be taken during the performance – not the rehearsal
- Please ensure that your child has a drink of water in a named bottle for both the performance and the rehearsal
- Students are to remain backstage for the entire production as they are required for the finale.
- Younger students will be provided with colouring sheets and pencils to occupy them during the performance and after their dance. Students in Grades 2/Level 2 Jazz and under will be using the Empire Theatre studio as their changing area. They will be under supervision at all times. Please however, make sure that they have been to the toilet immediately before they arrive for the show, as taking 70 little people to toilet all at once (the domino effect!) could be very difficult!
FINAL INFORMATION FOR THE YEAR.
Purchase of costumes by the studio. If you have arranged to have your costume to be purchased back by the studio, please leave your costume with Mrs. Rossow in the wardrobe at the Empire Theatre after the performance, or return it to the studio on Sunday 5 December. Reimbursement will be as arranged on your form.
The break up day is held at the studio on Sunday 5 December from 1pm until 4pm. Please come along. Bring a plate and join us to say goodbye for the year and to celebrate a great concert. We will provide Beer and Wine for mums and dads and soft drink for the students.
If you need to collect your child from a rehearsal early in the next couple of weeks, please do not remove them from the studio without letting a teacher know. Whilst your child is at the studio they are our responsibility and with so many people in the studio we need to know exactly where everyone is. Also be aware that it is very important to be on time to collect your child. When we are changing over classes we need to know that every student has been collected by a parent. We make very effort to run to time as on the schedule, so there should be little or no waiting time.
Re-enrolment forms will be handed to the students at dress rehearsals. It is very important that you complete one if you are returning next year. Please do not just assume that there will be a space if you are a current student. Please make sure that you complete one and return with your $20 fee. This fee will be deducted from Term 1 account.
Enrolment day is to be held on Saturday 15 January from 9 – 12.00. If you have completed a re-enrolment form there is no need to attend on this day.
Secondhand uniforms and shoes will be available to purchase on this day. If you have any items that you wish to sell, please see Miss Vallette and we will arrange for them to be displayed for sale at the enrolment day.
Classes recommence on Monday 31 January. Timetables will be available from the front desk at the studio next week. Alternatively, please access this on our website at www.dancecentral.net.au
