WELCOME BACK TO 2005

THIS YEAR’S PERFORMANCE IS CINDERELLA ON DECEMBER 3!!

Dance Central is currently looking for larger premises.  As we have grown at a wonderful rate, we recognize that this may place strain on the current resources at the studio.  Please bear with us while we find these premises!!  If you know if anywhere for lease of at least 500 square meters, a large car park and/or a quiet street that is reasonably central – please let me know!!! (The Macro Warehouse site would be good!!!)  AS PARKING WILL BE AT A PREMIUM, PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ALLOW TIME TO PARK A LITTLE FURTHER AWAY IF NECESSARY AND WALK UP TO THE STUDIO.  THERE IS GOOD PARKING IN VICTORIA STREET OPPOSITE THE SWIMMING POOL AND ALSO METER PARKING IN HERRIES STREET OUTSIDE THE COUNCIL.  Whilst we recognize that this is not ideal, there are very few schools – either dance schools or otherwise, where you can park outside the front door.  If you are delivering little ones for a class, there will be a receptionist on duty who will take them from you and watch them whilst you go and find a parking space, if necessary.

We will be making a group booking to Swan Lake in Brisbane at the end of February – please put your name on the board and pass payment on to Miss Vallette by Monday February 14

This year is the year of the full winter school.  Classes in ethnic dance, funk/hip hop, classical repertoire, RAD grades and majors and drama will be offered The RAD classical classes in this school are compulsory for any student wishing to attempt an RAD examination.  Tutors will be brought in from around Australia for this school and I hope that as many students as possible take advantage of the opportunities offered.  This school will be held from Monday 20 – Friday 24 June.

Students in Classical Ballet from Primary and over who wish to attempt an examination this year must be attending two classes per week from the beginning of the year.  This also applies to jazz students from Level 6 and above.  It places too much stress on students and teachers alike if this does not happen and there is too much “catching up” that has to be done.  Students in Primary, Grade 1 and Grade 2 ballet may do an assessment only on one class a week if they would like.  Please see Miss Vallette or Mrs Young if this is unclear, or to explain the differences in assessment or examination.  Your accounts will generally reflect two classes per week at these levels.  Please see Miss Vallette if this is incorrect.
