Feb 2006 newsletter

Welcome to Dance Central for 2006 for all families both old and new.

GENERAL CHAT  The “holidays” were very busy for both Kerry and I.  We started moving out of Wylie Street straight after the Xmas break up party, and apart from three days over Xmas where we couldn’t get any tradespeople, we have worked 7 days a week since!  However – I hope that you feel that the work has been worthwhile with our new dance studios, new floors, new waiting areas and toilet facilities.  Whilst work is still in progress, paitning etc needs completing, Kerry had to go back to his real job, and so we will complete all the “pretty” bits as soon as we can.  The purchase of a tarkett for studio 1 is of great importance – but at a cost of $8000, may have to go one the backburner until we have paid for the renovations!!  Similarly insulation in studio 2 and the parents waiting areas, at a cost of somewhere around $6000 will also simmer for a while.  Please bear with us at this time.

THANK YOU Our thanks go to Miss Diane who came in EVERY day over the holidays (except for those when she was MADE to rest) Mr Simon who also came in at every available chance, when he wasn’t working and Mr Gabe who also dragged himself in exhausted  from his place of  work – mostly covered in dust.  Miss Cat, Miss Caroline, Mrs Young, Karen and Erin Lansbury and Pip Hughes also have given very generously of their time.  Thank you everyone – we are so very grateful to you all.

MISS VALLETTE has been busy over at the Empire Theatre in her “spare time” on Saturdays Sundays and Mondays.  She was asked to choreograph the theatre’s production of Sweet Charity.  Cast members include, Mr Simon, Miss Cat, Mr Gabe Liz Hughes Megan Trinder, Breanna Muirden and Gemma Wuersching,   Please come along for a great night of theatre and to support those from our studio who have been selected to perform.  Tickets are available at the Empire Theatre.

FUNDS RAISED funds raised by the raffle and chocolate drive last year have gone to new stereo equipment in studio 1.  Thanks to everyone who participated so willingly in these events, particularly at a time of year when Xmas looms!
