Welcome back to a busy and fulfilling Term 2.
Absenteeism particularly in the higher classical ballet grades and majors has been high. Please understand that with examinations fast approaching next term, your teachers cannot work miracles. If you do not attend class regularly, we can only do our best for you. Missing classes not only lets your teachers down, but also the other members of your class
Beauty and The Beast Our Miss Cat has been cast as Belle in the Empire Theatre production this year. The studio has made a group booking to see the show on Sunday 24 June. Ticket prices are $19 children $25 students and $35 Adults. If you would like to come with us, please place your name on the noticeboard at the studio.I hope that you will come along and support Miss Cat, Mr Simon, Miss Shannon Gralow Miss Megan and the many other senior students that have been cast in the show. (Mr Gabe is in it too!!)
Costumes for Snow White are well under way with Mrs Crust making all of our first costumes. As these are completed, they will be displayed in the foyer for you to have a look at. Mrs Crust will not be making costumes this year for individual students. Mrs Glenda Harris will be available however. If you would like to contact Glenda to discuss cost, please call her on 0427 647761 after 1.30pm or on 46973431.
Costume Volunteer Meeting will be held at the studio on Wednesday 2 May from 5.45pm 6.45pm. Volunteers will be needed this year for the following
Group Costume Coordination to coordinate one costume including being available to make any costumes within that group and answer any questions on the making of the costume.
Headdress Makers to make headdresses for the various groups
Fabric Dividers to divide the fabric and notions for each costume
Instruction coordinators to compile, photocopy and distribute instructions for each costume
Please help us if you possibly can as it is with the help of volunteers that I am able to keep the costume costs as low as I can. I dont want to have to pass on the cost of the immense amount of labour involved in these jobs to the parents if I possibly can avoid it.
Drama classes are now available at the studio for Senior and Junior Levels. Please ask if you are interested
Eisteddfod Private lesson times are still listed on the noticeboard. There are timeslots still available but these are limited so if you are thinking about entering for the Lockyer Valley Eisteddfod in September, please place your name on the list. Please note that unless 24hrs notice is given to cancel a private lesson, you will still be charged for the lesson.
Exam Notices will be given to those students who are to be considered for a Southern Federation Jazz or Tap examination. These notices will be handed out in the next couple of weeks, if you have any questions about anything, please do not hesitate to write them in the parents book and I will call you. Please note that the permission forms AND MONEY for the examinations must be returned by the due date on the form. Students will not be entered for examination without full payment in advance.
RAD Vocational examination notices will also be handed out this term. Please understand that attempting a vocational examination is a difficult task and requires strong commitment on the part of the student. Very few students will be considered for a vocational examination this year.
