Robin Hood? A Christmas Carol? 28 November
Welcome back to another exciting year at Dance Central. I hope that you all had a restful break and am raring to go again!!
SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN There have been many of our students and teachers audition for this production at the Empire Theatre in April. I have also been lucky enough to have been invited to choreograph the production. I hope that as many of you as can will come along and support both me and any students/teachers who may be cast in the production
COSTUMES FOR (A Christmas Carol?) (Robin Hood?) are already in preparation Costumes will still be costed out this year again over the 4 terms. Any credits or amounts outstanding will be adjusted in your Term 4 account. We will once again purchase as many readymade costumes as we can or have sets of costumes made for groups, which will be hired to you. Volunteers will still be needed this year for the following –
Group Costume Coordination – to coordinate one costume including being available to make any costumes within that group, to assist with the handing out of any hire costume and/or answer any questions on the making of the costume if necessary.
Headdress Makers – to make headdresses for the various groups
Fabric Dividers – to divide the fabric and notions for each costume if necessary
Instruction coordinators – to compile, photocopy and distribute instructions for each costume if necessary
Please help us if you possibly can – as it is with the help of volunteers that I am able to keep the costume costs as low as I can. I don’t want to have to pass on the cost of the immense amount of labour involved in these jobs to the parents if I possibly can avoid it.
SENIOR DRAMA will commence for the term at the beginning of March
EISTEDDFOD PRIVATE LESSON TIMES Please contact the office if you wish to have a time allocated to your for eisteddfod solos and/or examination preparation
SOLO/DUO/TRIO EISTEDDFOD ENTRIES will this year be the responsibility of the individuals. Please see the office for entry forms. Please note that this year Miss Vallette will only be responsible for Group entries.
EXAM NOTICES will be given to those students who are to be considered for an RAD examination or assessment class. These notices will be handed in early March. If you have any questions about anything, please do not hesitate to write them in the parent’s book and I will call you. Please note that the permission forms AND MONEY for the examinations must be returned by the due date on the form. Students will not be entered for examination or assessment without full payment in advance.
MOVIE NIGHT – A movie night will be held on 14 March. Movies to be shown will be announced later. Two sessions will run. Junior from 6 – 8 and Senior from 8.30 – 10.30. Bring along a pillow. Cost is $10 which includes movie and popcorn. Pizza and drinks will be sold on the night with all proceeds going to the Gary Warfield’s Relay for Life team in memory of his wife Kerry. Please support this worthy cause.
CLASS TIMES are on the website for 2009. There may still be some minor changes to these as we settle in for the year.
Once again welcome back. I hope that you have a great year with us and if you have any concerns that need to be addressed, please make a note in the parent’s book in the front foyer and I will contact you as soon as I possibly can.
Happy Dancing Alison
