ABSENCES need to be kept to a minimum during this term as it is our vital examination preparation term. Please note below that classes will be held on public holidays this term except for Anzac Day.
COSTUMES FOR Charlie and the Chocolate Factory are already in preparation Costumes will still be costed out this year again over the 4 terms. Any credits or amounts outstanding will be adjusted in your Term 4 account. We will once again purchase as many readymade costumes as we can or have sets of costumes made for groups, which will be hired to you.
First costume Meeting to be held on Wed 14 May at 5.30pm. Sets of costumes that are being made for hire are already underway. Volunteers will still be needed this year for the following:
Group Costume Coordination – to coordinate one costume including being available to make any costumes within that group, to assist with the handing out of any hire costume and/or answer any questions on the making of the costume if necessary.
Headdress Makers – to make headdresses for the various groups
Fabric Dividers – to divide the fabric and notions for each costume if necessary
Instruction coordinators – to compile, photocopy and distribute instructions for each costume if necessary
Please help us if you possibly can – as it is with the help of volunteers that I am able to keep the costume costs as low as I can. I don’t want to have to pass on the cost of the immense amount of labour involved in these jobs to the parents if I possibly can avoid it.
EISTEDDFOD PRIVATE LESSON TIMES Please contact the office if you wish to have a time allocated to your for eisteddfod solos and/or examination preparation
EMAIL ADDRESSES As accounts have been emailed this term and will be from now on in an effort to be environmentally friendly - please ensure that the office has your correct email address

Please make sure that these notices are handed back with the correct entry fee by the date stated on the form. RAD vocational examination notices will also be handed out this term. Please note that the permission forms AND MONEY for the examinations must be returned by the due date on the form. Students will not be entered for examination or assessment without full payment in advance.
MOVIE NIGHT – A movie night was held on 14 March. $800 was raised for Gary Warfield’s Relay for Life Team. Thank you to the stalwart few who attended this very worthy evening!
NOTIFICATION OF CLASS CHANGES Please make sure that we are aware of any changes that you may have made to your classes this term so that any changes that need to be made to accounts can be facilitated easily.
PUBLIC HOLIDAYS in term 2. Classes will be held on all public holidays in Term 2 with the exception of Anzac Day .
SECONDARY DRAMA will commence for the term at the beginning of May. Miss Eliza (She played Lina Lamont, if you were lucky enough to see her in Singin in the Rain) will be taking these classes from Term 2.
SOLO/DUO/TRIO EISTEDDFOD ENTRIES will this year be the responsibility of the individuals. Please see the office for entry forms. Please note that this year Miss Vallette will only be responsible for Group entries.
UNIFORMS It is a requirement of the studio that uniforms be worn to class. Students are becoming very lax about this particularly in the higher levels. Uniforms must be worn to all classes by students in Advanced Foundation/Level 9 Jazz/Level 9 Tap/Inter Music Theatre and below. Whilst I realize that this may not always be possible in the wet weather, attempts must be made! Students in Levels above these may wear non uniform clothing to class, however grooming must still be of the required standard. Students may be asked to leave to class if not correctly attired. SATURDAYS are the exception to this rule when free clothing may be worn to class. If you are unsure as to uniform requirements, please ask for a student handbook at the office.
VACATION SCHOOL for RAD Graded and RAD Vocational will be held on Tues 30 June – Thurs 3 July. Please note that unless this has been cleared with Miss Vallette that ALL examination candidates in Grade 1 Ballet and above and ALL vocational RAD candidates MUST attend this school. Exam classes for SFD Jazz and Tap will be held on Sat 15 and Sun 16 August as previously notified.
YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY is being put at risk by parents still pulling up in the middle of Beech Lane to collect or drop off their child – or even to have a chat with another parent. Not only is this illegal and is therefore putting the studio at risk of closure, it is also placing students at risk of injury. If you are not able to pull of the road in the car parking area, please proceed to Mill Lane to park and walk up to collect your child. Parents who continue with this practise may be asked to leave the studio.
